Sunday Randomness

The school had a nice Halloween party where my son got as much candy as he did "walking the streets" for a sugar fix. They invited the parents so we could do all the taking of the movies and pictures. Okay, since you asked, here's one of Officer Boy:

 officer

Criminals everywhere were quaking in fear at his 'tough guy' face. Fortunately, we got this picture before the school handed out stampers along with candy goodness. After he got hold of that, he managed to stamp himself right between eyes. At least the stamp read, "Boo!"

The Boy actually enjoys giving candy more than trick or treating. He lasted about a half an hour on the walk and then helped us hand out candy. For a while at least. Then he walked over to the neighbors and helped them instead. 196 kids were served overall. Not too shabby.

The pop rocks are mine, stay away.

==========

The wife called me upstairs at one point in the week, pointed to the floor, and said, "What is that?"

I scrunched down and looked at the thin strand of something on the floor while she added, "I hope the cats don't have worms."

(The Wife has a case of extreme heebie jeebies when it comes to all things parasitic.)

I picked it up, stretched it, and said, "Yeah, these rubber band worms are horrible this time of year."

"Jerk."

(Hey, you chose to marry the smartass.)

A few more captchas from this week:

In honor of most of the costumes out this Halloween:

slubar

(Slutted up Beyond All Recognition)

When your child paws a piece of prime candy for a few minutes before deciding that he or she doesn't want it:

defingly

("Ewww, I can't eat that. It's all defingly now." This also happens at birthday parties when the cake isn't guarded from 'icing probes.')

It was just odd that this one came up during a tooth fairy entry:

crest

That's all I have people. Go be relaxed; it's Sunday.

FIRST!

I am cracking up at "defingly" I am definitely using that tomorrow (and I am totally taking credit for it, so there!)

Crap! I'm off my game!!! I knew Petra was online bc I was emailing w her. Sigh...note to self: tomorrow must be better Heinous stalker. Ok now going to read post.

petra: congrats on first. I won't rat you out about the origins of defingly. Not that I could. That would require stalkerish abilities beyond my ken.

I now know why I'm online on a Saturday night stalking people. It's because I don't dress up as a slubar often enough. I learn so much from reading you Heinous. :)

Mary Anne: and here I am writing my blog at the same time...woo hoo, someone better hose us down.

That is pretty funny that "crest" showed up when it did. I have a love/hate relationship with word verification...love to see what psuedo-word might pop up, hate to try and read the really squished ones and am not a big fan of taking the extra time to type 'em. (Hey, I have to make the most of my bloggy time, ya know.)

BTW, cute little Officer Boy. Love his tough guy face!

Great costume!!!

Gosh, back in the day - I could SLUBAR with the best of them. HA!

He makes a very convincing officer.
Make sure you don't wash those pop-rocks down with coca-cola!

First! (For Sunday.) (It counts!)
The boy is adorable! (The girls are forewarned.)
I get the heebie jeebies too. I once made John come kill a hairball because it LOOKED like it could possibly be a spider and I wouldn't go any closer to confirm.

Kindergarten Cop is too cute :).

And thinking a rubber band is a worm is WAY better than thinking a worm is a rubber band... trust me on that one.

Your son is so adorable! And I'm not just saying that because he gives out candy.

And the word verification just proves how powerful the tooth fairy is. She sees all and knows all.

lol about the rubberband worms. I hear they are really snappy.

jori-o: I turned it off for mine, but I do get material out of it on other blogs...such a conundrum.

jamie: We're into easy here for costumes. Ahh, the good old days.

Zip: I don't want my tummy to pop ;)

Jen I'll give you that one. I hope John at least gave you a ribbing for being anti-hairballist.

Diane: Amen to that.

Marinka: But the candy thing definitely helps. The tooth fairy is the ultimate stalker...and she collects body parts.

My daughter colored her teeth and lips BLUE an hour before the Halloween parade. At least it was washable. Though if it wasn't she would have blended in better than a regular day...

defingly? That HAD to come from kindergarten. The costume is ADORABLE, and I've decided your wife deserves SOME kind of award.

One of the kids in my sons pre-k class came dressed as a cop too. His dad is a Mountie so he even had some of his dad's lingo down like calling repeat offenders "toads."

Police officer costume is great... though a pic of "boo" stamped between his eyes would have been hysterical!

I love how the word verification sometimes adds even more humor than is intended...

Though this is titled "Sunday randomness", I am waiting to see if you made it through church today without getting "THE LOOK"!!!

Unknown said...

Tracey: she was just getting into the holiday spirit...

Deb: I'm pretty sure I'm the reward although I'm pretty sure she would disagree. Also...why aren't you on twitter?

Cap'n: Sweet, I should have taught The Boy some lingo too. Maybe a few submission holds too...

amusing: no church today. I had a yard to clean. Next week will be a must go though...sigh.

THe little cop is adorabe. No pic of him with "boo" between his eyes?

Lola said...

Now, that's the kinda cop I like to see! Glad he got to have a Halloween party at school instead of a Harvest Celebration, like my son.

20th! Great policeman picture, he definitely looks like he's about to swoop in and make an arrest.

Sherendipity said...

Wait, you mean you're not supposed to use those stampers right between your eyes? Honest?

Unknown said...

Kat: There's one, but I can't bring myself to post it. He's post sugar crash and looks miserable. Poor thing. I will show it to future girlfriends though.

Lola: He goes to Catholic school. None of that PC crap for us.

Casey: He was arresting total strangers that night...

Sher: It DOES make sure everyone notices your way cool stamp.

Bee said...

I save my husband all the time from errant scary rubber bands. I pat his back and give him a peck on the cheek. So cute.

Katol said...

Hahaha! at club HASAY, my word verification is flablech. flab and blech.

smart ass random words...

Unknown said...

Bee: We should get awards for stuff like that.

Kat: At least they're good for something. Not much, but something.

Red Cup Mom said...

Haha. Love the captcha screen shots. I gotta pay more attention to them other than just squinting my eyes and wondering if that's two v's or a w.

So, um, yeah, the cop boy is super cute. Funny about the boo stamp!

Great costume! Love the 'tough guy' face, lol.

I love the tough guy!! And I totally agree with your wife, you would have to pick up all rubberbands at my house too!!
Hope you had a great weekend! :)

Is that Spongebob's Mom up above me??????

Captcha screenshots should be a regular feature -love it!!!!!!!

Unknown said...

Jen: It's the only thing that keeps me from cursing at them when they come up.

deemarie: Let me know next time you spot one of the vile beasts.

sue: As long as they keep cooperating, I'll keep posting them.

Great Police officer costume. It's a very law enforcement face your kid has going there.

Man, I know what you mean about SLUBAR. Some of the older kids just put on the least amount of clothes and the most makeup possible and call that a costume. Totally SLUBAR.

The tooth fairy one is hilarious. I love those funny CAPTCHAS.

Awesome Sunday stuff.

He's a giver, your son.

Jen: I can't believe some of the stuff they market for tweens now.

Cat: Amazing how stuff rubs off sometimes and you don't notice it for a while.
