Sunday Randomness

The usual stuff that I didn't feel like making into whole posts...

The Boy: "Do I get any extra in my allowance for spending time with the family instead of playing with my friends?"
(Does a kick in the pants count as extra?)

Me: "Why are you wearing my sunglasses buddy?"
The Boy: "So the spitting cobras don't get me."
Me: "Righto, carry on."

The Boy: "Wanna know my favorite song?"
Me: "Sure, what is it?"
The Boy: "The Polka."
(I'm going to have to have a talk with his Polish grandfather. That's just not right.)

Fortunately we know the Polka thing isn't true. We have the following as proof:

A little help on some lyrics is in order, but he's got the ham going. I trimmed a bit out in the middle where he discovered he could make the CD skip when he whacked the table.

Also an award from Tara at From Dawn Till Rusk. Sadly, she is wrapping up her blog to move on to another project and I can wish her nothing but the best (even if she does spell favorite strangely...there's no 'u' in there...even spellcheck marks it wrong, so there.) It is well worth perusing her archives if you get a chance.

I rated as 'Coolest Dad' in her book and that's good enough for me.

Wow, Cheeseburger in Paradise... that sounds like every HASAY member's dream. Hahah, the chorus was excellent, he had the head shake crazy Jimmy Buffet going on. Great video!

How could you possibly have comments already? It's not even Sunday yet.

:(

OK, well, I think Jake definitely has a career ahead of him as a lounge singer. And he is adorable, just like his dad.

That fact that your little one can sing JB makes my heart smile. It is so important that we mold our little parrotheads.

Spitting cobras? Awesome !

I think that's great - I like some Jimmy Buffet myself. I have the kids over here singing old Beatles songs which trips out my friends. They say I'm turning them into hippies.

They're never too young for Buffett.

Jimmy Buffett, baby!
"Cheesebogow in Pawadise"
Um.
That is so cute that I'm going to have to go die now.

Dude. You've got watch out for those spitting cobras.

Wayne: Like when he sings it over and over again in the car? It's okay, I sing along.

Casey: I don't know where the performer comes from...

Petra: I think he's got me beat by a mile in adorable.

Jamie: Once they're exposed it just takes off on it own. Yeah, those pesky central PA cobras...

Tony: Nah, you're just rounding them out.

Cap'n: Amen.

Kat: You should recover ;)

dipity: I know. I found three this morning alone.

C'mon, man. Polkabration! Now if he could *do* the polka, I'd be really impressed.

Well, you are a cool dad. No doubt.

I couldn't see the video (damned Adobe won't load the new flashplayer since I got my heavy-duty virus antibiotics) but I can tell from the comments I would've liked it. The first time I heard a 4-year-old Ryan sing, "Blew out my flip-flop... stepped on a pop-top," my heart just warmed.

And I'm with him on those spitting cobras. No one wants that crap in their eyes. Damn!

That boy's a genius: spitting cobras?! I love him. Send him over.

I have a video of my oldest singing Brown Sugar by The Stones when she was about that age. I was really hoping she would never catch on to what that song meant...LOL I think I have a new crush on your son! : )

LOL @ Spitting cobras.

And yeah, those Canadians are always spelling things wrong.

Hey, this totally makes me want to go put on Home Alone (1) and watch the Polka Kings scenes with John Candy over and over and over.

Michele said...

Hey, you're just teaching him the importance of music appreciation. He could be singing Margaritaville.

We took our youngest to a Genesis concert when he was about that age. He loved it.

Nothing wrong with a little Parrothead as long as he's not tipping his cup at 5'o'clock for a little Parrot Bay.

Heinous said...

Ellie: He may be able to...he's sneaky like that.

Diane: I know. I have to get those things out of the house once and for all.

Braja: Okay, just send him back after he gets on your nerves.

Sarah: They catch on too quick sometimes.

Anna: She's even worse than that with spelling. She's across the pond. They think they invented the language over there.

Jannie: Back when we could tolerate Macaulay Culkin...

Michele: He can sing a lot of Buffett. My fav is "Pencil Thin Mustache."

Jen: No, that's for daddy.

Oh that was hilarious! The drawback is that now I want a cheeseburger but I can wait (not sure if I'm good enough for paradise yet- FINGERS CROSSED!).

Heinous said...

DeeMarie: But sometimes we would prefer to pay him to get out of the house and play with his friends.

goodfather: lol. Nice...two 'u's...that's gotta be even better than one.

Deb: Next stop...um...some tiny stage somewhere.

Khadra: Thanks. It's all natural ;)

anita: It's hard to keep them in the house at times.

CK: We'll get his musical tastes to where they need to be. At least we can teach our kids one thing right ;)

Bee: It's never too late for a cheeseburger.

Cat said...

Spitting cobras? Don't show him the Weird,Freaky and True show on TV. The Ligers kept me up last night. Giant ass cats, need more than sunglasses to keep them at bay!

You need to quit your job now and take his show on the road!

Heinous said...

Cat: We have monster spray for that...

Carrie: I hope he doesn't mind The Boy's little homage ;)

Mary Anne: That would be okay with me.

I thank you for your impartiality--holy and unholy in equal measure--but must know how in someone's holy (or unholy) name you KNOW the smell of putrefied skunk rectum?!?!?
